Pet Boarding

CLIMATE CONTROLLED FACILITIES FOR YOUR PET

Bel Air Veterinary Hospital offers climate controlled kennels some with outdoor dog runs as well as a fenced in dog walking area.  We offer quality care you can rely on.  We understand your pets may require special treatment-please inform us of your pet’s special needs when making their reservation.  Pets are fed twice daily and fresh water is available at all times.  Additional feedings can be provided at owner’s request, for a small fee.  You will need to provide your pet’s food for their stay with us.  If it is dry food, we ask that you provide each meal individually bagged and labeled.  If you feed canned food please be sure you supply enough for your pet’s entire stay.  All stainless steel bowls are disinfected between each use.  Blankets and disposable litter pans are provided, by the hospital, to all of our feline friends.  For our canine visitors, blankets and rubber mats are provided for their comfort.  For safety reasons, we ask that you do not bring any toys, as some canine toys are not easily able to be sanitized.  We require all boarding pets to be current, 2 weeks prior to their stay with us, on vaccines and heartworm testing, please see below.  Certificates or verification from the administering veterinarian of all vaccines and heartworm testing must be provided at the time your reservation is made.  Any pet found to have external parasites will be treated at the owner’s expense.  Bathing services are available, for a fee, on the day of discharge.  Please schedule the bath when you make your pet’s reservations.  If your pet is scheduled to be bathed, please allow ample time for your pet to dry before pick up.  Usually an afternoon pick up allows time for your pet to dry.

It is not uncommon for your pet to be tired after boarding.  Some pets are much more active while boarding than at home.  Our staff enjoys “talking with” and interacting with our boarding guests to make them feel as comfortable as possible during their time with us.

Reservations are strongly recommended, as our facility fills up quickly, especially during holiday and summer time vacations.  A deposit and vaccine verification are required when reservations are made, to save space for each pet.  The deposit can be refunded as long as your reservation is cancelled at least 48 hours in advance of your drop-off date.  So be sure to call our office as soon as your family getaways are planned.  Pets are admitted and discharged from boarding Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to  8:00 p.m.; Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.. Please know you will be charged for the entire stay which you reserved. When dropping off your pet, we ask that you provide a contact number where you can be reached in the event of an emergency.  We will also ask for you to provide a name and phone number of someone, in case we are unable to reach you, who would be able to make medical decisions for your pet in the event an emergency.

For optimal vaccine protection, your pet’s vaccines are required to be current at least 2 weeks prior to boarding or being admitted for a procedure.
