Hospital Policies

We at Bel Air Veterinary Hospital require that you have your dog on a leash or your cat in a pet carrier when you bring your furry friend in for their appointment.  This will keep them safe and better controlled as many pets become nervous or excited when they enter into a busy environment with other animals.

If you are new to our practice we ask that you have your pet health records faxed (410-569-4353) or emailed (bavhreports@gmail.com) to us before your appointment, as this will provide the Doctor a complete health history of your pet.  Our staff has been trained on how to secure your pet properly and safely during the exam and so we ask that you allow them to hold your pet during this time.

For your convenience we accept Cash, Personal Checks, Mastercard, Visa, Discover, American Express and Care Credit.  We do not offer payment plans.  For financial security of our clients, we will request a valid photo ID for all personal check payments.  PER CARECREDIT – clients using the CareCredit card must appear in person with 2 valid forms of ID and be an authorized user.  WE CAN NOT ALLOW anyone  to use the CareCredit card if they are not listed on the CareCredit account.  These are CareCredit regulations and as an authorized Provider of CareCredit, we MUST abide by these requirements.

For optimal vaccine protection, your pet’s vaccines are required to be up-to-date at least 2 weeks prior to boarding or being admitted for a procedure.

Due to the high appointment demands that all veterinarian facilities are experiencing at this time, we have had to make appointment deposits part of our policies moving forward.  While we understand and appreciate all of our clients who keep their appointments, there have been many who make an appointment then don’t show up or cancel last minute.  This has created time slots where our doctors are not seeing pets.  These NO SHOW appointments are quite frustrating to us as we have had to make a waitlist for our clients who need their pets to be seen. This deposit will be used toward the services we provide to your pet at their scheduled appointment. If you cancel or reschedule your appointment 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment, your deposit will be happily refunded. We thank you for your continued support, business and understanding as so many protocols have changed during this pandemic.  And as always, thank you for allowing us to care for your most precious pets.
